General Job Duties:

  • Machinery Break Down Knowledge: understands how to correctly break-down/take apart a machine to effectively clean/sanitize all areas.

  • Chemical Knowledge: understanding various cleaning/sanitizing agents and the ability to comprehend how to effectively yet safely use these.

  • Equipment Operations: understands and is properly trained on how to operate and maintain mechanical equipment: complies with facility rules in regards to usage and traffic flow: enforces safe and effective use of equipment among fellow associates (i.e. pallet Jacks, foamers, sprayers); Needs to be able to clean/train others to clean ALL machinery effectively/intensely.

  • Facility Maintenance: maintains upkeep and cleanliness of facility: creates an organized and workable environment: respects all company property and equipment.

  • Associate Guidance/Violation Enforcement: A Sanitation Manager must be able to work with all other associates to guide them to the proper cleanliness standards. This will involve explaining certain sanitizing/cleaning techniques and variables that up hold these standards. In addition, the Sanitation Manager must also be willing to help correct any incorrect cleaning procedures witnessed (e.g. a SSOP violation).

  • Manager Procedures: understands each associates role within all Departments: applies all company policies, procedures, and regulations; check chemical substances for usage/correctly add/dilute chemicals as needed: understand proper chemical rotation and effective cleaning methods: Ability to learn/practice CIP and SSOP cleaning procedures (Clean in Place and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures): maintains order and safety of work environment: understands BRC/USDA/FDA regulations and federal inspections: utilizes all safety gear assigned/associated with the position: possess decision making and problem solving skills: focuses on team development, open to training and continual education.

  • Future Cleaning/Sanitizing method development: the Sanitation Manager must be able to answer any questions presented to them while on the floor regarding cleaning/sanitizing procedures, food safety, chemical safety, and other sanitation related items. Furthermore, the associate must be willing to provide positive, creative feedback with ideas for sanitation systems development and improvement.

  • Ensures shift objectives are achieved in each area of Operations as designated by the Director of Operations, Senior Management and HR Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bend, twist, stoop and lift on a continuous and repetitive basis.

  • Lift up to 50 pounds overhead on an occasional basis without mechanical assistance.

  • Ability to navigate thick, heavy hosing throughout various areas.

  • Push/Pull up to 50 pounds occasionally without mechanical assistance.

  • Bend to 90-degree angle in order to perform rinses/sanitation.

  • Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time.

  • Withstand instant temperature changes and various surroundings: wet, dry, 52-degrees or below, and high humidity.

  • Visual acuity to read paperwork and computer monitor.

  • Usage of both feet for repetitive motions.

  • Usage of both hands for repetitive actions such as: simple/firm grasping or cutting.

  • Able to safely handle equipment for cleaning/sanitizing (sometimes heavy in nature.

  • Able to partition and use chemicals in a safe manner.

  • Hear oncoming traffic in all areas of the warehouse.
