Quality Assurance Technician
Temp-to-Hire - Fulltime
$17-$21 per hr. DOE
The Quality Assurance Technician assures the consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing manufacturing practices and systems, validating processes, and providing necessary documentation to ensure quality excellence. In this role the technician will strive to achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, identifying and resolving problems, completing audits, determining system improvements as well as implementing change.
The Quality Technician will perform the described quality activities throughout the manufacturing plant as necessary and on a daily basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Perform first article inspection and FAI layouts on new and/or revised parts and components.
Complete FAI reports with all dimensions and submit to Quality Engineer for data entry verifications. Ensure that PPAP and FAI s reports meet customer and/or internal requirements.
Generate regular inspection reports (History Cards) as required.
Generate Initial Process Flow Diagram, Control Plan and Failure Mode and Risk Analysis.
Initiate, track, document nonconformance reports (NC s)
Complete Measurements for statistical process controls, capability studies, and MSA (Gage R&R) as applicable for key characteristics specified on customer prints and/or customer specs when required
Learn and work in critical modules in QMS database UniPoint (NC, CPA, Inspection and Test, Internal Audit, Calibration)
Perform Incoming, In Process Inspection and Final Audit to ensure that products are meeting all engineering specifications.
Measurements Skills: basic test and measuring equipment such as optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, thread gage, pin gage, height gage, and operate CMM.
Working knowledge of GD&T and it is application to the measurement process is critical for this position.
Perform visual and dimensional inspection of purchased parts, fabricated parts, stamped parts, components, assemblies and materials using calibrated equipment.
Perform Gage Calibration, when required.
CMM Programming is plus.
4+ Years of experience performing close tolerance mechanical inspections
Experience with Metal Stamping and Fabrication (Laser Cutting, Forming, Welding and Assembly Processes).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
Strong Math Skills
GD&T (ability to read, interpret and apply GD&T call outs to the measurement process)
Strong Computer Literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
